West Coast Lady

Vannessa annabella

The West Coast Lady is one of three North American species of brush-footed butterflies known colloquially as the "painted ladies". The West Coast Lady is distinguished from the other 2 ladies by its lack of eyespots on the hindwings (the others have them). Its upper wing coloration has the purest orange of the three; especially the American Painted Lady is usually quite reddish.

"When you eat of the toil of your hands, happy are you, and it is good for you."   Psalm 128
