Killdeer

Charadrius vociferus

The killdeer is a large plover found in the Americas. It was described and given its current scientific name in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus in the 10th edition of his Systema Naturae.

Killdeer inhabit open areas such as sandbars, mudflats, and cultivated-grazed fields.

"When you eat of the toil of your hands, happy are you, and it is good for you."   Psalm 128
