European Starlings are highly successful, invasive songbirds in North America, known for massive, synchronized flocks called murmurations. They are stocky, black birds with iridescent purple/green plumage, white spots in winter, and yellow bills in summer. They thrive in urban and agricultural areas, eating insects and fruit, with a roughly 15-year lifespan.
